How to find a person in VK

The need to find the profile of a particular user in VKontakte may arise for various reasons. The service provides several search options. Let's consider these methods in more detail.

Ways to quickly find a person's page in VKontakte

The standard search in VKontakte works using filters. You can customize your search by such criteria as: gender, age, marital status, education, place of residence, life position, military service, job, exact date of birth. An exact search by phone number linked to the page is also available. For this purpose it is necessary to:

1. Add a contact to the directory of your smartphone or tablet.
2. Open the VK app and go to the “account” section.
3. Go to the synchronization settings in the “other” subsection.
4. Select the item “contacts only”.
5. In the “friends” menu on your personal page, click the “+” icon and start importing contacts.
6. In the list of numbers that opens, select the contact of the desired person.

Alternatively, enter the phone number in the browser bar, adding “site:vk.com” in front of it. The search engine will show the user's page if it has a phone number open for viewing. You can also enter the phone number into the search bar of the social network (the icon with a magnifying glass) and select the “people” tab. The page will display if the number is listed.

Important note:

Using the browser's search engine will not yield results if the page is protected from indexing by privacy settings.
