How to disable Threads in Instagram

If you want to deactivate Threads and avoid losing your Instagram profile, follow these steps:

Disable or deactivate your profile in Threads:

1- Open the Threads app on your device. 2. Go to your profile by tapping the icon in the bottom right corner. 3. Tap on account settings (three dots or gear icon). 4. Scroll down the menu and select “Account”. 5. Find “Deactivate or delete” and select it. 6. You will be prompted to enter your password to confirm the action. 7. Once confirmed, if you chose deactivate, your profile will be hidden for a while, but you will be able to restore it within 30 days. 8. If you chose delete, the account will be deleted after 30 days.

Important points:

• Deactivating your Threads account will not delete your Instagram account if you follow the correct instructions.
• Completely deleting your Threads profile will be separate from Instagram. Make sure you choose to delete the Threads profile specifically and not the entire account. Tip: Threads and Instagram are linked through the same Meta ecosystem, so it's important to be careful when deactivating so you don't lose access to Instagram.
