How to make a stream on Twitch

In order to start a broadcast on Twitch, you need to use special software - Twitch Studio, which simplifies the process of creating a stream. A beta version is available for beginners, but you can immediately work with the full version of the program. The basic steps to start streaming on Twitch are as follows.

Step 1: Registration and authorization

First of all, you need to register on Twitch and authorize in your account. After that, you can start customizing your broadcast.

Step 2: Customize video and audio quality

While preparing your broadcast, you need to customize the video and sound quality. For beginner streamers it is recommended to leave the default settings, while more experienced users can personalize the settings to suit the capabilities of the device. To do this, you need to click on the “Personalize” button. If your camcorder does not appear in the drop-down menu, check the device connection and refresh the page.

Step 3: Create a broadcast scene

One of the key steps is to create the scene that will be displayed during the broadcast. In Twitch Studio, you can choose from templates or download ready-made options. You can also create your own scene with the desired elements. To edit scenes:

  • Go to the “Broadcast Scene” section.
  • Select the scene to make edits and click on the “Edit” button.
  • Add elements using the “+” button - you can insert backgrounds, media files, text, alerts, screen captures and other elements.
  • All changes made should be saved.

Step 4: Working with Layers

Layers are elements that are used to personalize broadcasts. Basic layers can include:

  • Application demo, monitors, camera, etc.

  • Texts, images, timers, etc. Using the layer editor, you can customize:

  • Size and location parameters (X and Y axes, width, height).

  • Position of elements centered or stretched.

  • Rotating the source horizontally and vertically.

  • Adding frame and color correction filters. The Chromakey effect is especially useful for improving image quality on green backgrounds.

Step 5: Bind Layers

Once the layers are customized, you need to pin them. To do this, you need to click on the “Bind” icon in the layer editor. All attached layers can be found in the “Bound Layer” section. From them you can create new templates for future broadcasts.

Step 6: Start the broadcast

Once the scenes and layers are set up, you can move on to starting the stream. To do this, click the “Start Broadcast” button. Before you do this, you will need to enter the name of the stream and select a category - for example, “Free Talk” or popular games such as Fortnite or cyber sports.
