How to make a Twitch channel
Twitch is a popular streaming platform that competes with YouTube. It is especially in demand among users from America, Asia and the Russian-speaking audience. If you want to create a channel on Twitch, the process is quite simple, but it is important to follow the right sequence of steps to successfully launch and design it.
Step 1: Sign up for Twitch
Before you can create a channel on Twitch, you need to register on the platform:
- Go to the Twitch website and click on the “Register” button in the top right corner.
- Fill out the form: enter your username (up to 25 characters), date of birth, and a password.
- Link your channel to a valid e-mail address (confirm your e-mail via the link in the e-mail).
- Pass the robot check (“I am not a robot”). For mobile devices, the process is similar, but you will also be asked to provide a cell phone number (you cannot use IP numbers or landline numbers).
Step 2: Register your channel
After registration, you can start formalizing your channel. Channel design on Twitch is done through the “Settings” section. Here are the main elements of the design:
- Profile picture and banner:
- In the “Brand” section, you can upload a profile image and banner for the channel.
- It is recommended to choose bright and recognizable images that match the theme of your channel.
- Profile color and video player banner:
-
In the “Brand” section, you can choose a profile color that will make your channel stand out from others.
-
It is also recommended to customize a video player banner that will be displayed when you are not on air. 3- Biography and social networks:
-
In the “More Details” section, add a short bio that reflects your personality or the theme of your channel.
-
You can also integrate links to your social media and personal website. 4- Channel Trailer:
-
You can add a short welcome video that will play on the channel page. The trailer should not exceed 60 seconds. Upload it and set it as a trailer in the channel settings.
Step 3: Add a broadcast schedule
For the convenience of your viewers, it is recommended to add a schedule for your broadcasts. In the broadcast settings section, you can specify when you plan to broadcast so that subscribers can know in advance when to watch you.
Step 4: Finalize Registration
When your channel registration is complete, you can launch your first stream. You'll need to set up Twitch Studio or use other streaming software to start streaming.
