How to recover a deleted Facebook account

Facebook remains one of the most popular social networks in the world, but situations with deletion or deactivation of accounts happen quite often. The reasons can be different: actions of intruders, mistakes of the owner or deliberate deletion. Fortunately, there are ways to regain access to your page.

Reasons for account deletion or deactivation

An account can be deleted or blocked for the following reasons:

  • You deleted or deactivated the profile yourself.
  • You used someone else's data for registration.
  • You have created a corporate profile that is not intended for private use.
  • Had multiple profiles at the same time, which is against Facebook's rules.

If your account has been deactivated, use one of the following methods:

  1. Restore via cell phone or email
  • Use the phone number or email address attached to your profile.
  • Go to the account search page.
  • Enter the required information (phone number, email or first and last name).
  • Follow the instructions to reset your password.

  • Identify friends based on their photos.

Post-Restore Guidelines

Once access has been restored, be sure to change your password:

Click on the icon in the upper right corner (triangle). Go to Settings → Security and Login. Find “Change Password” and click “Change”. Enter the old and new passwords in the corresponding fields.

Important nuances

To restore your account, you will definitely need access to the email or phone number specified during registration. If you don't have this access, it's best to contact Facebook support immediately to explain the situation.
