Deleting other people's likes: basic methods

Block a user

  • If you want to remove a certain person's likes from your profile, the most radical way is to block them.
  • When you block, all of the user's actions (likes, comments, reactions) disappear from your profile. To block:
  • Go to that person's profile page.
  • Click on the three dots in the upper right corner.
  • Select the “Block” option. Important: If you unblock the person later, their likes and comments will not be restored.

Request for user

  • If blocking is not appropriate, you can politely ask the person to remove the likes themselves.
  • This is especially true if the user is someone you know and you want to preserve the relationship.

Delete

  • If you can't remove a certain person's likes, but their presence is bothering you, you can delete the post itself.
  • This is a last resort if the post is not very important to you.

For group and page administrators

For administrators of public pages or groups, it's easier to remove likes:

  1. Go to the page settings.
  2. Find the “People and Other Pages” section.
  3. Open the “People who like this page” list.
  4. Find the user you want in the list.
  5. Check the box next to the user's name.
  6. Click the gear icon and select “Remove from likes”. After that, the likes will be removed and the user will be unsubscribed from your group.

Totals

It is impossible to completely remove someone else's likes without certain consequences (deleting the record, blocking the user). Each method has its own side effects:

Blocking removes all of the user's actions, but excludes them from your audience. Deleting a post removes the likes but deprives you of content. Asking a person requires tact and approach. The method you choose depends on your goals and level of interaction with the user.
