To enable comments on YouTube, you need to follow a few steps depending on what device you're working from. Here are the instructions for different cases:
From a computer:
- Go to Creative Studio:
- Open the comment management link or access Creative Studio through your profile.
- Enable comments by default for all videos:
- Go to Community Settings.
- In the Comments section for new videos, select “Allow all comments.”
- If you want to filter potentially inappropriate comments, check the “Send potentially inappropriate comments for review” checkbox.
- For new videos in the new Creative Studio:
- Go to Settings > Video Upload.
- Go to the Advanced tab and find the comments section.
- Make sure “Disable comments” is not checked (if it is, uncheck it).
- Enable comments under a specific video:
- Go to the Videos section of Creative Studio.
- Find the desired video and select Details.
- In the Advanced tab, select “Allow all comments”.
From the mobile app:
- Open the YouTube app and sign in.
- Go to the page of the video for which you want to enable comments.
- Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the video.
- Select “Settings” and turn off “Safe Mode” (flip the toggle switch to the “off” position).
- Restart the app for the changes to take effect.
From a mobile browser:
- open YouTube in your browser and sign in.
- Go to the Videos section and search for what you want to watch.
- Under Details and Advanced, select “Allow all comments”.
Important:
- If the video contains children's content, comments are automatically blocked by the system and you will not be able to enable them. These steps will help you enable comments under all videos or select which ones you want to enable comments under.
